Visual experiments in natural language processing
SFPCNarrative Geometry is a set of data visualization experiments I created as part of a summer session at the School for Poetic Computation (SFPC).
In the session we explored established as well as emergent tools and techniques for computationally analyzing texts, and writing programs to generatively create them. In some of my experiments I wanted to explore relationships between objects and entities throughout a novel, and how they could be visually represented to reveal patterns. In others I wanted to explore what may emerge by visualizing the multi-dimensional data vectors that were used to represent words in a ML model.
The resulting images evolved into less of a pattern analysis exercise, and more into a data-informed expression of generative art.
