Bastille Doom Days House

Immersive party scene exploration experience

Live Site Case Study

Doom Days House was conceptualized as in interactive memory, where users can experience the album by Bastille as the fragmented remains of an end-of-the-world party scene gone wrong.

Each room of the house contains a memory fragment puzzle based on a featured track from the album that must be pieced together before progressing to the next room. Each solved memory builds on the others, forming a story of that night.

We combined traditional 3D modeling with handheld 3D scanning to create the college house party environments for this experience. I contributed to the conceptual and creative development of the experience including the shattered figure memory puzzle alignment mechanic. I also executed the front-end build which features several unique material and VFX shaders that make up the surreal spotlight effect as well as other visuals.

We integrated the Spotify Web SDK so users logged-in with Premium can listen to full tracks from the album while exploring the party scene.
